Prof. Dr. Vinicius Rosa, DDS, MSc, PhD (Singapore)
Dr. Vinicius Rosa is Associate Professor at the Faculty of Dentistry, National University of Singapore (NUS). He earned his DDS from the University of Passo Fundo in 2005, receiving the Academy of Dental Materials Student Award, and completed MSc and PhD degrees in Dental Materials at the University of São Paulo in 2007 and 2010, respectively.
His work on technology innovation for dental pulp regeneration has yielded conceptual frameworks for tissue regeneration and personalized biomaterials for vital pulp therapy. He was the first to show that stem cells from dental pulp can regenerate pulp in full-length root canals and demonstrated that induced pluripotent stem cells can be differentiated into odontoblast-like cells. Building on these foundations, Dr. Rosa develops AI-assisted and genetic-algorithm–guided biomaterials to create next-generation, patient-specific bioactive cements and hydrogels for dental pulp regeneration. These strategies precisely tailor chemical, mechanical, and biological properties to enhance healing and long-term function.
In parallel, he investigates nanomaterials and nanoengineered titanium implant surfaces for hard- and soft-tissue integration, including graphene-based composites, to improve osseointegration, modulate immune responses, and resist microbial colonization.
Dr. Rosa has authored over 100 peer-reviewed papers, holds several patents, and served as Vice Dean (Research) from 2020 to 2023. As Founding Director of the Oral Care Health Innovations and Designs Singapore (ORCHIDS) centre, he established the NUCOHS Tooth Tissue Bank (2020) and Dental Stem Cell Bank (2023). His contributions have been recognized with the IADR Distinguished Scientist Young Investigator Award and the IADR/DMG Stephen Bayne Mid-Career Award, underscoring his leadership in regenerative dentistry and biomaterials innovation.
Prof. Falk Schwendicke (Munchen)
Professor and Director of the Clinic for Conservative Dentistry, Periodontology and Digital Dentistry at the Ludwig Maximilian University Hospital in Munich. Prof. Schwendicke’s research focuses on restorative and preventive dentistry, dental diagnostics and artificial intelligence, health economics, health services research and public health. He has authored over 600 articles, 250 abstracts and 30 book chapters and has been invited to give over 300 lectures worldwide, including the Buonocore Memorial Lecture. Prof. Schwendicke has received a number of prestigious awards and is a reviewer for over 40 journals, including Lancet and the New England Journal of Medicine, as well as for various national funding organizations. He is Associate Editor of the Journal of Dental Research and heads working groups at the World Health Organization WHO, the World Dental Organization FDI, the International Standards Organization ISO. Prof. Schwendicke holds honorary professorships at the Universities of Aarhus (Denmark), Zagreb (Croatia) and Chennai (India). He has been one of the most cited researchers in dentistry worldwide for several years (Stanford ranking <1%).
Prof. Dr. Florian Beuer, MME (Berlijn)
Internationally recognized leader in prosthodontics and implant dentistry with over 20 years of academic, clinical, and research experience. Author of more than 220 PubMed-listed papers and >500 publications overall. Extensive expertise in digital dentistry, biomaterials, implantology, and prosthodontics. Proven track record in leading international societies, editorial boards, and research consortia.
Prof. Roeland De Moor (Gent)
Roeland JG De Moor, Lth, PhD, MSc studeerde af in 1984 aan UGent. Hij heeft een bijzondere bekwaamheid in Kindertandheelkunde & Dentale Traumatologie (UGent), Endodontie en Restauratieve Tandheelkunde (UGent), Chirurgische Endodontie (ACTA), Lasertandheelkunde (Univ Wenen), Gerechtelijke Tandheelkunde (erkend gerechtelijk expert) (UGent).
Heden is hij gewoon hoogleraar aan UGent, vakgroep Mondgezondheidswetenschappen en gastprofessor Medical University Vienna (Oostenrijk), gastlector ‘Lasers in Endodontics’ (EMDOLA – European Master degree in Oral Laser Applications : Luik, Timisoara, Wroclaw, Rome & Univ. Montpellier), gastlector Artevelde Hogeschool. Zijn patiëntenbehandelingen hebben een focus op endodontie, dentale traumatologie en dental laser bleaching. Hij heeft een 35-jarige expertise in het gebied van laserapplicaties in de tandheelkunde. Orofaciale schadebepaling & schadebeheer is een bijkomende expertise (reeds 25 j gerechtsexpert) Zijn research heeft een focus op de toepassingen van lasertechnologie bij wortelkanaalreiniging en -desinfectie, de toepassing van licht geactiveerde nanopartikels voor endodontische doeleinden, Laser Doppler Flowmetry (pulp vitaliteit), de dynamiek van vloeistofstroming en cavitatie bij wortelkanaalirrigatie, evaluatie van endodontische kwaliteit en de psychologische impact bij dentale trauma’s in kader van schadebepaling. He is lid van de editorial board van de International Endodontic Journal, Journal of Endodontics, Journal of Adhesive Dentistry and co-editor van Dentistry Journal – section “Lasers in Dentistry”; hij treedt op als reviewer op regelmatige basis voor alle dentale laser en endodontische journals met impact factor. He is auteur/co-auteur van meer dan 250 manuscripten in peer-reviewed journals. Samen met Giovanni Olivi en Enrico DiVito schreef hij het boek “Lasers in Endodontics” (ondertussen één van de belangrijkste referentiewerken), verder heeft hij ook bijgedragen in meerdere tekstboeken over Endodontie, Dentale Laser Applicaties en Restauratieve Tandheelkunde.
Prof. Lieven Annemans (Gent)
Lieven Annemans is gewoon hoogleraar in de gezondheids- en welzijnseconomie aan de faculteit geneeskunde van de UGent. Hij legt zich al 30 jaar actief toe op gezondheidseconomie met onderzoek en adviezen over hoe de gezondheid van de mensen te optimaliseren. Sinds 8 jaar heeft hij zijn werkterrein uitgebreid naar de thema’s thema welzijn en geluk.
Hij was gedurende 8 jaar voorzitter van de Vlaamse Gezondheidsraad, werd tweemaal laureaat van een Francqui leerstoel, publiceerde meer dan 300 internationale wetenschappelijke studies en geeft talrijke nationale en internationale lezingen over gezondheid en welzijn.
Hij is ook auteur van meerdere boeken waaronder De prijs van uw gezondheid, Je geld of je leven in de gezondheidszorg en het recente Geluk vinden zonder het te zoeken.
Tandarts Khee Hian Phoa (Rotterdam)
Khee Hian Phoa studeerde in 1983 af als tandarts aan de Rijksuniversiteit Utrecht (RUU), waarna hij aan de slag ging bij de afdeling Maxillofaciale Prothetiek van de RUU. In 1984 startte hij een algemene praktijk, waar hij tot 2022 werkzaam was. Daarnaast werkte hij bij het Dijkzigt/Erasmus MC, ProClin Rotterdam, het LUMC en CBT Rijnmond, waar hij momenteel consultant is.
Zijn opleidingen omvatten: Tandheelkunde (RU Utrecht), Tandarts-MFP (NVGPT), Restauratief Tandarts (NVVRT) en EPA Prosthodontist.
Khee Hian is onder meer opleider Tandarts-MFP, lid van het Consilium MFP en Consilium Restauratief tandarts, lid van de ROC KIMO Gebitsslijtage en erelid NVVRT.
Hij was president EPA 2019, Voorzitter Specialist Committee van de EPA en Secretaris van het Nederlandsch Tandheelkundig Genootschap.
Khee Hian is docent bij het CEPCD en publiceerde over onderwerpen binnen de Bijzondere Tandheelkunde, zoals ‘Oligodontie’. Ook geeft hij lezingen over integrale tandheelkunde en bijzondere tandheelkunde.
